I
followed a circuitous route from Malang, Indonesia, where I was born, to
southwest Colorado. I’ve lived all over: Santa Monica, CA; Istanbul, Turkey;
Ithaca, NY; Madison, WI; Vienna, Austria; and the San Francisco Bay area. I
arrived in Durango during that snowy winter of 1992-93. I feel grateful to
live in this extraordinary community, in the midst of all this natural
beauty, where I enjoy playing outdoors with my husband, Thomas, our three
children, and our friends. I especially love running the trails in the area.
Since coming to work at PAA in 2005, I’ve learned so much from everyone
here, staff and students alike. I enjoy being part of the supportive
environment and the camaraderie. I’m also a Fort Lewis College transfer
student, pursuing a degree in Psychology, so I understand first-hand some of
the challenges that non-traditional students face.
