Program for Academic Advancement
Participant Contract
As a participant of the Program for
Academic Advancement:
1. I agree to attend
classes regularly. I understand that regular classroom attendance is
defined by PAA as having no more than three unexcused absences in any course
during the quarter.
2. I agree to keep
all appointments I make with PAA staff: the Director, Advisor, Tutor
Coordinator, Tutors, or Peer Mentors. If I cannot attend the appointment, I
agree to call in advance to reschedule. I understand that if I miss three or
more appointments without calling in advance to reschedule, I
risk losing program services.
3. I agree to work with the Advisor to
develop a complete and workable academic
plan which is necessary for furthering my education. If I find the
plan should change or a class should be dropped, I will meet, call, email, or
write PAA to make the necessary change.
4. I agree to attend
any study skills workshops, counseling sessions, tutoring sessions, cultural
events or other activities that the staff and I agree are most beneficial to my
success at Fort Lewis College.
5. I agree that if I sign up for tutoring,
I will meet my tutor two times a week, for at least
one hour each session. I agree to inform my tutor and the tutor coordinator if I
decide to terminate my tutoring.
6. I agree to treat all staff, tutors and
peer mentors with respect and civility as described
in the Fort Lewis College Student Conduct Code.
7. I understand that PAA services
will be stopped and I will have to renegotiate this contract if I do not
keep the agreements I have made in this contract.
